Car and Van Rental in Paris

Paris is famous for iconic landmarks such as the Louvre museum, the Eiffel Tower, Notre Dame cathedral, Montmartre and the Arc de Triomphe, making it one of the top tourist destinations for travellers worldwide.

Enterprise Rent-A-Car provides car rental in Paris at over 20 separate locations. We operate eight branches in the main arrondissements alone, as well as dedicated car hire branches at Charles de Gaulle and Paris-Orly airports. Enterprise outlets are also present on the outskirts of the city, such as at Versailles. Most of our branches are located close to the major access roads of the Boulevard Périphérique and the E5 and N2 branch roads. See map below.

Tips for getting the lowest prices on your car rentals

  • Book online for our best prices.
  • Rentals are usually cheaper at weekends.
  • Book well in advance as prices will be cheaper when demand is low.
  • Remember that a rental day is 24 hours, once you go over that you roll into another day so, even if your rental lasts just one hour over 24, you'll be charged for another full day.

Paris attractions

As well as the more obvious monuments and landmarks, there is plenty more to do in Paris. Known as the fashion capital of Europe, you'll find clothes for every budget, from the high end, Rue du Faubourg Saint-Honoré, to the more affordable, Rue de Rennes. You'll also find some of the best museums and art galleries in the world along with sprawling flea markets, stunning churches and formal gardens.  For foodies, there are restaurants on every street and fabulous open air food markets, such as Rue Cler and Rue Mouffetard on the Left Bank (south of the river) and Marché des Enfants Rouges and Marché Popincourt on the Right Bank where you can browse for delicious ingredients to cook up a storm.

Day trips around Paris

The Palace of Versailles is probably the closest and most spectacular place to visit outside of Paris. Set in stunning gardens dotted with fountains and lakes, the Palace is worth visiting both inside and out.  A bit further afield, at about and hour and a half's drive, you can spend the day in Monet's beautiful gardens at Giverny, the inspiration for his famous waterlilly paintings. The Loire Valley is the perfect destination for a weekend break, at about two and a half hour's drive from Paris. There are around 300 chateaux in the area, including Blois, Chambord, Amboise and Chaumont, so you can pick and choose which to visit. And of course, if you are travelling with children, Disneyland Paris is just an hour out of the city, perfect for a day of fun and magic.

Driving in and around Paris

The centre of Paris is not large and is a combination of wide boulevards and narrow streets.  There are also some very big roundabouts, one of the largest in the world is at Etoile, where 12 streets meet at the Arc de Triomphe and another large one at the other end of the Champs Elysees, at Place de la Concorde. Parking in the street can be a problem in the centre and you'll need to pay Monday to Saturday between 9am to 8pm. The safest bet is to check in advance whether there are any paying car parks in the area you are visiting. Alternatively, use public transport in the city and save the car for trips out of Paris. The ring road that surrounds Paris is called the 'Peripherique' and all roads out of town, including the motorways radiate out from 'gates' around this ring.
